From idea to platform - here's how we got here
The Idea
Frustrated with existing platforms, started sketching out what a better video platform could look like. Focus on creators, not algorithms.
Development Begins
First lines of code written. Built the core video infrastructure, upload pipeline, and transcoding system from scratch. Idea was for a simple little project, in PHP, handling everything on one server. Then it was decided not to go forward as not only it woudln't be a sustainable path moving forward (financial and technology), but also would result in a very forgettable project no one would want to use.
The Development reset
After learning and experimenting, work on rewriting everything from scratch work began. While slow at the start, there's now Clear seperation of systems together with Best practices, more flexible frontend framework. And also finally, a custom built media player to avoid limitations or abandonment by third party developers.
Alpha Launch
Sneak peak into the future. Invited first batch of creators to test the platform.
Public Launch
Full platform launch with creator monetization, mobile apps, and everything needed to compete with the big players.
